The Capstone ePortfolio is a unique, living document of a student’s journey at LaGuardia, a comprehensive educational narrative about his or her history and future goals. Produced in a special Studio Hour connected to the Capstone course, the Capstone ePortfolio enables student learners to collect the best of their work at the College and showcase it digitally alongside thoughtful reflections. The Capstone ePortfolio challenges students simultaneously to look back at their learning and to look forward to the next phase of their lives—to transition to the workplace, or to a four-year school. This critical attention to their own progress allows students to illustrate their growth across multiple semesters, from enrollment to graduation. The end result is a vibrant, integrative, multi-modal, and self-produced presentation of classroom learning and life experience. While the Capstone ePortfolio may draw on previous iterations of a student’s ePortfolio, it represents a new and culminating display of his or her work at the College and demonstrates the student’s readiness to graduate and/or transfer.
Disclaimer: Students
at LaGuardia Community College have generously agreed to
have their ePortfolios displayed on our informational ePortfolio
site. These ePortfolios represent the work of students at
different stages of their community college experience.
While viewing the ePortfolios, you may find inaccuracies
reflective of students’ developmental errors. Please
be aware that developing an ePortfolio is an iterative process
in which students continue to refine and improve their work
over time. We have respected the students’ work by
displaying it at the stage at which they agreed to share
it.
